Free trip to Poland/Germany???
No, this is not spam.
This is an actual opportunity for me to travel with my marching band to Poland and Germany, ALL EXPENSES PAID, during the last week of classes this semester. OMG. So many things to consider: missing a whole week of class right before finals, the fact that I won’t miss anything actually important and I don’t pay attention anyways. I can study on the plane. And once I get back, I’ll have 6 whole days to recover from jet lag and study.
But still…no matter what, it wouldn’t be good for my schoolwork. And this is already the most stressful, hardest semester of college yet. And I’ve already missed two days of class for band. And I’m pretty sure my arts and letters professor won’t be happy about me missing so much.
May I just say that my marching band is freaking awesome? “The entire cost of the trip is covered by the government of the host country—airfare, hotels, transportation, etc.” How cool is that?
INTERNAL CONFLICT. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

In 3 days…
I’ll be in Chicago! Home sweet home! I’ll be with my best friends from college, with tons of free time to explore the city, and I’ll get to meet up with Jen, one of my best friends from high school. I’ll also get to see my parents, introduce my California friends to deep dish pizza, play at a rally at Navy Pier, and then go to South Bend to BEAT THE IRISH! Woot! I’m beyond excited. Gotta finish up a lot of schoolwork first…
